[ # 5 🎥 - K.'s Live Shopping Tips] How to Encourage Viewers to Comment During Your Live Shopping Events
The biggest strength of #LiveShopping is its interactive dimension. But we're often asked: how do you actually get viewers to engage during a live session?
It's simpler than you think. Here's how 👇
Welcome Your Audience
Start by greeting the first usernames that appear in the chat. Welcoming your early viewers immediately brings them into the experience and builds a sense of community from the very first seconds.
Ask Your Viewers Questions
"What do you think of our new product? What are you currently using?"
Invite your audience to share their opinions on the products you're presenting — and let those responses shape your live. You'll be surprised by how many replies you get, and the content your viewers bring will genuinely enrich your session.
Respond to Comments in Real Time
Take a moment to read through the chat and don't hesitate to call out viewers by name when responding — it creates a real connection. And always thank them for participating actively.
Keep Things Lively
Maintain your audience's attention by integrating polls or quizzes directly into your live. They appear on screen in real time, letting viewers respond instantly — and giving you valuable insight into how well they understand your product.
When running a #LiveShopping, interactivity isn't optional. Play the proximity card, lean into the content your audience creates, and stay authentic in every exchange. The more genuine you are, the more your community becomes a genuine part of your show — and that's when success is guaranteed.

Today's question: "How do I get viewers to comment during my live streams?" Right this way. Hi there, I'm Karine — and for those who know me, I share tips to help you improve your live shopping sessions.
Dying to know what your community thinks? "Oh yes, I'm desperate to know!" Well… just ask them! "Wait, it's really that simple?" looks at camera … "Yes, it really is."
That's the beauty of doing a live — you can actually connect with your audience in real time.
Let's set the scene: you're on camera, with a tablet in front of you showing incoming questions from viewers.
First things first: welcome your audience. Read out the first usernames appearing in the chat — "Hey Rex300, hi Adrien342, oh look, it's Emiline, hello everyone!" It always feels good for whoever's watching, like they're part of the party. You can kick off the conversation right away: "Tell us in the chat what interests you most about today's product."
Then, as you present your product or service, ask open-ended questions to get people talking: "What do you think of this? What are you currently using?" You'll be amazed at the number of replies — and they'll give your live real substance.
When you want to respond to a specific comment, remember: the moderator sends it to your tablet. Take a second to say the person's name out loud — it matters for building a real connection. And don't forget to thank them: "Thanks, Vincent!"
To check whether viewers are following along, or to get answers on specific topics, launch a poll or quiz. It shows up directly on screen, viewers can respond in real time, and it gives you insight into how well your audience understands your product.
To wrap up: engage, encourage, and stay connected. A live show calls for interactivity above all. And most importantly — enjoy it! When you master that total fusion with your audience, you'll create a genuine appointment they'll look forward to every time.
Can't wait to see your results. Now it's your turn!
